Teen Parent Programs

Daily Dose of Reading Teen Parent Mentoring program helps young parents understand how-to and the importance-of reading to children.

The Daily Dose of Reading curriculum introduces and reinforces parent roles in literature and language activities with their children. The curriculum engages the students in role-play activities that help young parents realize the importance of their role in their children’s development of literacy skills.

Literature themes are used in the curriculum to coordinate with different life skills the students are adapting to in their new roles as parents. Examples of life skills that are addressed include child care activities, shopping and preparing food, health and well-being.

Daily Dose of Reading delivers curriculum to support the Graduation Reality and Dual-role Skills (GRADS) program at Euclid High School. This variation of vocational education targets soon-to-be and new parents enrolled in high school.
